BOOOOOOM! Now this is a release I never thought we’d see again! 2020 has definitely had a huge downside, but also a silver shining, I mean “Lining”! The biggest would be the return of Ray Pope to the shave world! And it’s this my friends that made this EPIC Reboot a reality!
However, it’s not an exact replication, it’s BUTTER! Ahem, I mean…BETTER!Yes my friends, inspired by Ray’s triumphant return and also hoping to get him doing vids again, I went all out!

Those of you who have been around for awhile know Ray Pope really enjoys Bay Rums; Masters, Boosters, etc, you know, the classics. You also know how I feel about bay rum. So yes folks, I have whipped together another new take on traditional Bay Rum, A Butter Bay Rum!!!!To me it feels like Ray Rum, a scent released so long ago is FINALLY Complete! I’m honestly not sure why I didn’t give it such a thorough treatment way back, but I am more than happy to right this wrong now!
The Shaving “Ray Rum” was originally released December 19, 2014 to a Shave World few of you new folk would recognize. Seriously, it was a whole different animal. Maybe 25 artisans, a handful of brushmakers and nothing really interesting in the razor department. Modern single edge GEM type razors and Adjustables were non existent for the most part.
On top of that, Holiday scents were minuscule and rather boring, especially when it came to label designs & themes! I know it’s popular to argue that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, but even that argument was tired way back in 2014…But The Shining? Now That’s my “Christmas Movie” of choice and worth pointing out to anyone who will listen. [Pointing this out would usually involve copious amounts of rum, so there’s that too.]
What we didn’t have in product offerings, we made up for in having a good time!
At the same time, Ray Pope and Anthony “The Stallion” Esposito were in the middle of an EPIC almost WWF-esque YouTube Lather Battle. Each trying to one up the other and all in good fun. By this time I believe Ant had his very own Stallion Soap but as for Ray, nada. So with all this in mind for some reason, The Shaving “Ray Rum” Just Made Sense! A Double Homage, to the bad boys of shaving and the world’s greatest Christmas Movie ever, The Shining!
